Local Bus Services

The Christmas Market takes places at the top of Steep Hill, which at its steepest is a 1:7 gradient.  Therefore if you are arriving in the city by a timetabled bus service or train, you may wish to either walk up or down the hill to the event. Steep Hill, which won Britain’s best street in 2012, is lined with local independent businesses and therefore there is plenty to see on your way up. Alternatively there will be a  variety of local bus services available which can take you to the event. These are as follows:

Stagecoach bus services available from the Temporary bus station and a bus stop Broadgate (next to the old bus station)-

Thursday 7th and Friday 8th  

Bus Station from Stand G to the market service 7&8 0940 then every 10 minutes until 1810
1830 then every 15 minutes until 2145
Market to the City Centre from Pottergate service 7&8 1011 then every 10 minutes until 1821

Saturday 9th

Walk and Ride Bus

The walk and ride bus is a small, accessible fleet of three midi-buses operating between the Market and a bus stop within the town centre at Silver Street.

The uphill downhill shuttle bus (walk and ride) will also drop off on Minster Yard South and it is timetabled to be operational during the following hours

Saturday 10am- 7pm

Sunday 10am- 5:30pm
